Steam Room Project Huddersfield 18-05-2026

We were contacted by this client who wished to have a steam room in the new on-suite bathroom he was createing in his home.

The space was contained in the eaves of his house, so it had to be bespoke to accommodate the sloping roof line.

After a site visit, we prepared a proposal which was accepted by the client, and which included for a lounger style bench seat, together with an integral shower.

As the steam room was on an upper floor, the client was rightly concerned that water from the shower may become a problem long term so he opted for an integral floor to the steam room, effectiveley “tanking” the whole room.

Tiles were selected and the installation commenced.

The installation took approximately ten days in total, and this is what our customer had to say upon completion.

“We recently used Mr Sauna Ltd to install a steam room within our ensuite and were extremely impressed with the service provided throughout. The engineers were meticulous in their work, very tidy on site, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. They were also very respectful of our home at all times, which was greatly appreciated. Communication was excellent from start to finish and the whole process was handled professionally and efficiently. We would have no hesitation in recommending Gerard and the team at Mr Sauna Ltd.”

Boston Spa – Residential Bespoke Sauna 15-05-2026

We were contacted by this customer who had a space in their home which had previously been used as an office, but which he wanted to convert into a bespoke sauna.

This was a very challenging project as the space was located at the top of the house and in the eaves of the building.

To compound the difficultly, the customer wished to retain the existing Velux windows.

After several site visits and the customers consulation with Velux, it was agreed that we could carry out the installation, and the glass in the Velux windows would be changed to something capable of withstanding the high temperature achieved in saunas.

Our client had selected Thermo Alder timber for the sauna, and also required a fully glazed front for added light. In addition to the conventional sauna heater he also wanted to enjoy the many benefits of Infrared, so of course we were able to oblige by adding an Infrared panel to the package.

You will see from the photos that the installation has provided a superb sauna space, truly unique in design and our customer commented as follows:

“Thx for helping us get a perfect sauna solution for our house !”

Akasha Spa & Wellness

We were contacted by this client who wanted to convert an existing property into a spa and wellness centre.

The proposed location was a Grade Two Listed barn which came with its own issues, but working closely with the owner and her interior designer, we were able to interpret her requirements for a sauna and steam room which was to be installed into the eaves of the barn building.

Intended for use by our clients day spa visitors, the sauna which was from a medium thermo Alder timber was also to incorporate an Infrared heater to add additional benefits to that of a conventional Finnish sauna heater.

To add to the complication of the sloping roof, we also had to build the sauna around a supporting column which went right through the middle of the sauna.

The steam room posed similar issues to the sauna with regard to the sloping roof, but without the added column.

Our tiler liaised with the client with regard to interior finishes for the steam room, and his artisan skills were a match for requirements for a pebble detail to the walls and floor.

The end result was a stunning addition to this now popular day spa.

Residential Sauna & Steam Room – Linton, North Yorkshire

Linton is probably one of the most exclusive areas to live in and around North Yorkshire, and the properties are truly stunning.

Our client had recently purchased their property and had appointed a local interior design practice to completely renovate and invigorate the property.

The master bedroom was to benefit from a large en-suite bathroom which was to house a bespoke Sauna and Steam Room.

Of course we were up to the task, and after consulting with client, interior designer and builder, we were able to provide a really stunning Sauna in Thermo Alder, and Steam Room finished in large format marble tiles.

Both rooms benefited from a fully glazed front, and also both were fitted with colour changing ChromoTherapy lighting to further enhance the final look, and of course add the benefits of ChromoTherapy for mood enhancing colour therapy.

One Gym – Fitness Clubs – Various Locations

Our clients Paul and Dave Pearson are the owners of One Gym, a chain of affordable fitness centres based in the North East of England.

When they were going through a period of expansion, they decided to improve their customer offering by adding a sauna into each new build club.

Working with the two owners we provided several design options, and they finally settled upon one large Sauna, to be located centrally between the male and female changing rooms with easy access from both.

We have now supplied and installed Saunas for them at sites in:

Sunderland, Darlington, Thinford and Stockton

Private Residence – West Sussex

Having worked with the builders previously on another fabulous house nearby, we were asked to get involved in the supply of a bespoke Sauna for their clients, one of whom worked in the city, and his partner who had her own jewellery design business in London.

This beautiful seaside home was to be their weekend residence, their main home being in the newly developed Battersea Power Station in central London.

The clients had very specific ideas with regard to the interior design of the sauna, which was to incorporate a Huum “Pebble” heater to echo the pebble tiled floor of the Sauna, and also to have timber boards narrower than conventional sauna boards.

In addition to the conventional sauna heater, the client also requested a 400 watt Infrared panel which can provide instant heat at the push of a button, providing the many additional benefits that IR can offer.

As all of our products are bespoke, achieving their design requirements was not a problem, and the end results look amazing.

Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa – Wirral

We have worked with this client over several years and their spa and wellness facility in Thornton Hough on the Wirral peninsula is a fantastic example of how a hotel and spa should be run, with the owner always maintaining a watchful eye on the business, and constantly striving to keep up with and indeed set trends in the market.

Having completed several projects for them, including an innovative Infrared Therapy Wall and a Himalayan Salt Inhalation Area, we have been asked to complete the spa area by the addition of a Herb Sauna, allowing for herbs from the garden to infuse their many benefits into the sauna, and a new Steam Room with a fully glazed and illuminated picture wall, showing a woodland scene.

The Blade – New Apartment Block – Central Manchester

We were contacted by Manchester developer Renaker Build, one of, if not THE largest developers of city apartments in the city.

“The Blade” a new high rise development they were working on had an extensive wellness offering for the residents, to include Technogym equipped gym facilities, a spin studio, yoga studio and a PhysioTherm Infrared “Sauna”.

The “Sauna” was to be provided with six individual PhysioTherm Infrared therapy chairs, each capable of being operated individually on demand, thus saving a great deal of energy and making the Wellness Suite very energy efficient.

Each individual session lasts 40 minutes, and the user can relax and simply enjoy the warmth of the Infrared panal as it warms the blood, which is then pumped around the body to stimulate the heart and muscles.

We had several meetings with the developers over many weeks to arrive at the final design, and completed the Infrared “Therapy Room” as it is now called, together with providing matching timber cladding to the anti-room between male and female changing areas.

The client was delighted with our work and I am sure we will be working with them again.
